Tie Rod Question

I have a 1997 Honda Civic EX 2dr and I need a tie rod. I have 3 16 inch rims and one 17 inch rim on it. Midas told me that I needed to get 4 new rim and tires and my question is this: I have three perfectly good rims and tires, do I really need to buy four tires and rims or can I just replace the 17 inch rim with a 16 inch rim and tire? Thanks in advance.

Re: Tie Rod Question

As long as the rims are all the same size and close to the same weight you shouldn't have issues, midas just wants to sell you a complete set.

My question for you is, how does this have anything to do with a tie rod?

Re: Tie Rod Question

Because they told me they couldn't do the tie rod before I got a new set of 4 tires.

Re: Tie Rod Question

I would go in there and slap them with my dick cause how dumb they are. Just make sure and get another 16" rim to match the rest and get a tire on it and your fine. they shuld replace that tie rod anyway.
