Re: A.c. controls 01 to 97 swap

Not sure about 2001, but I know you can swap in the 99-00.

I just swapped 2000 into my 98 coupe. You need the face plate, center vents channels from heater box to face plate from in the dash, the heater control box, blower motor box, the heater heater controls sub harnesses from the 99-00 and new seals for the evaporator.

Before you put the car in the garage for the swap go to AC service and get the current contents recovered/recycled out since to get the heater and blower boxes out for swap you have to temp drop the evap.

You have to remove the dash, no way around it. Once out remove the current face plate and the center vent. While the face plate is off is a good time to rewire the rear defogger from the 98 button connection to the 99-00 faceplate controls (wish I could remember the wire color, but just review the rear defogger wiring diagrams for your car and the one you got the controls from and you'll see the path you need to change). Drop the evap, can leave the drain connected but will have to disconnect the coolant lines. Swap heater box and blower boxes. I moved my evap temp sensor plug from where it was on the 98 (right side) to the location it was on the 00 (left lower area) so that the 00 heater harness could plug in without mods.

I'm sure there are better guides if you search, that is just off the top of my head.

Here are a couple pictures of the setup. (pic1, pic2)
