a different locking problem

2000VP
my power door lock switch/button does not unlock the doors BUT it does lock them. In addition, my remote works perfectly to both lock and unlock.
What is broken so that unlock doesn't work from the switch but still works from the remote?

Re: a different locking problem

This is easily diagnosed with a wire diagram and a test light or a DVOM.

My first guess would be the green/orange wire is open circuit between the lock switch and the lock control unit. Probably broken in the harness that runs through the door jamb, right at the plug on the door.
