beam pattern with projector lights
beam pattern with projector lights
I bought some projectors off ebay...installed them in my 98 civic hatch and now i cannot get them adjusted properly, im aware of the euro and dot style cutoffs mine has dot cutoffs. The problem is the projector lensese seem to both be rotated counterclockwise slightly, proving it impossible to get a nice cut-off. I will be posting pictures later of the pattern when it is darker, please reply if you have had this problem or know how to fix it.

change the projector to a real one from an oem car. or even hid. those aftermarket units are terrible and have no regulation. rotational adjustment is not possible, they are mounted on two solid screws and a third anchor. most you can do is up/down and possibly left/right. no rotation.

Re: beam pattern with projector lights
Good luck fixing that. The only viable option would be to crack open the lights, then adjust either the projector mounting points or the cutoff plates. In both cases, you probably won't be able to get it exactly level unless you build a mount.
On an unrelated note, it's been a damn long time since I've been on here. Glad to see Gearbox is still around and kickin'.

Re: beam pattern with projector lights
are you putting the valeos in the tycs? if youre lazy you can squish them onto the factory tyc bolts, but i opted for my own mounting system for full adjustability. much easier to aim and they hold up to road bumps better. valeos are the easiest projector to fit into tycs without cutting the housing at all. you may need to trim one side of the valeo projector tho. i used a metal file to shave it down a few mm.
