alternator wireing?

i am trying to make a generator out of a lawnmower and a 1997 civic alternator.. and i need to know where the "positive and negative" wires would be. I need to know where the voltage "comes out at" I do not know the correct terms but i hope someone understands what i am talking about. thanks

Re: alternator wireing?

you can't just spin it and get current out. you'll need to control the excitation voltage too.
