Intermittent Shaking

I have a 99 Honda Civic EX automatic (157k miles) and have been experiencing a shaking in the front end of the car that comes and goes. It seems to be related to temperature as it happens midday, but rarely happens at night.
Symptoms:
  • Happens during normal driving
  • Brake pedal becomes very stiff
  • Feels like a thudding
  • Wheel shakes and speed is affected/have to put the pedal down to keep speed.
  • Goes away eventually
Known Good:
  • Replaced both front wheel bearings less than a year ago
  • Both axles replaced
  • Calipers and hoses were replaced by a local shop about a year ago
  • Replaced Pads and Rotors about 3k miles ago (no thudding while braking unless the problem is happening)
Any suggestions are extremely appreciated as at this point I am kinda at a loss of what it might be.

Brake pedal becomes very stiff
Wheel shakes and speed is affected/have to put the pedal down to keep speed
When it gets to this point, stop and check if you have a wheel and brake that's incredibly hot

Which wheels/brakes are affected?

If more than one wheel is screaming hot, I'd suspect a Master cylinder related issue such as misadjustment, failure, oil in the brake fluid, or something is keeping the brake applied when it shouldn't.....(misadjusted light switch?)

Re: Intermittent Shaking

I will definitely see if one wheel is hotter than the other next time this happens. The master cylinder is original as far as I can tell, I have had the car for the last 30k miles. The brake fluid itself looks clean when I checked the reservoir just the other day. When you say "misadjusted light switch" what are you referencing ?
