calling all honda nuts, head scratcher for ya.
I will try and make this short and sweet, reciently Bought a 98 civic with a B16A imported swap, the guy I got it from has gone through it and put a OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness in it, was getting rough idles on warm engine (runs fine when motor is cold) runs ok when driving but come to a stop and bogs down real low, idle fluxuating all that good stuff, gets a check engine light which for a while was fairly consistent when I got on it in 2nd and with that light on will idle smooth, shut the car off CEL resets and back to goofy idle. Bogs even more if I turn my heat and lights on, alt tests normal, he took it to honda they recommended maybe new ECU, he put in a chipped ecu and everything but no dice, I am pretty positive he has changed the IACV as well, I'm at a loss on anything else to try.
If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Engine swaps might be easy for ONE person to deal with when something goes wrong (the person who did the swap)....but it can be a freekin nightmare for the next owner who knows next to nothing technical about it....
Unless you have a local shop (or person) that specializes in this sort of thing, most regular shops can't do much to actually help you or fix the cars problems. I'm sure many shops will gladly take lots of your money though.
