Brake Lights

Brake Lights

I have a 1998 DX hatch

my rear passenger brake light works some of the time when the brakes are applied
but the light itself always runs when the lights are turned on
but the braking light doesnt most of the time when the lights are on

any ideas?

last guy had told me he had just put one in (only owned car for about a month)
went out and got one and it seemed to work fine
