Timing belt or coil pack????

Hey guys, I have a 99 civic that will not start. Do you think it's the timing belt or maybe coil pack? Any help would be appriciated. Here's a quick vid...Thanks in advance!

Re: Timing belt or coil pack????

There wouldn't be ANY spark if it threw the timing belt off.
That doesn't mean the belt is in time though (cam-crank relationship).

You have SOME spark, there's at least enough to jump across the plug gap in open air. How large a gap can the spark jump?

Was the plug wet or was it dry?

Got fuel?
Got compression?

What happened before the engine wouldn't start?

Thanks for your response...One day when I went to start it, it stumbled and wouldn't start. Not sure about compression but the fuel pump turns on.

I haven't Checked...that was an extra plug I had just to see if there was spark. I'll pull the current plugs out tommorow and check.

Re: Timing belt or coil pack????

I want to know if the spark can jump a 1/2 inch gap.
I want to know if the spark plugs are wet with gas.

What's the last thing the car did?
Was it driven 10 feet and shut off (like moved in the driveway to let another car out), and the next time it wouldn't start?

Hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank it. See if it might try to fire.

Re: Timing belt or coil pack????

I'll try that and check the plugs. The car was driven by my girlfriend one day...then a few days later I turned the key and it stumbled...then would only crank.
