where is crankshaft positioning sensor in 1999 d16y8?
Ok, this may be a stupid question. But I have seen multiple answers . where is the crankshaft positioning sensor in my 1999 civic ex (d16y8)? I have heard some say it's in the distributor, and some say that it's behind the crankshaft pully and lower timing belt cover... Help!!! The symptoms of my car are that of a faulty crankshaft position sensor. But where is it located???

I have heard some say it's in the distributor, and some say that it's behind the crankshaft pully and lower timing belt cover..
One of three sensors inside the distributor functions as the CKP sensor.
The sensor on the end of the crankshaft (CKF) is used as a misfire sensor on your engine.
7th gens use a nearly identical sensor on the end of the crankshaft as the CKP.
The symptoms of my car are that of a faulty crankshaft position sensor.
What code do you have?
