Automatic transmission shifts at high rpm all gears

my 98 Civic EX will only shift to the next gear at a high rpm. It shifts good when it does shift but you have to be at 4800 rpm. If you let off of the the gas before 4800 rpm it will not shift and stays in whatever gear you are in. the check engine light is on with the code P0122 throttle position sensor. I dont know if that has anything to do with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Automatic transmission shifts at high rpm all gears

Fix the TPS code and your trans shifting complaint will magically disappear.

EDIT: Fix the TPS code CORRECTLY....
