Crank no spark

Working on friends car. Kids replaced distributor, wires....I tested main relay - found bad, replaced - still no spark. 1999 civic ex. No fuel pump noise at all and the check engine light is on during cranking. Im thinking of replacing ecm, unless there is another obvious path. Mechanically inclined......NOT a mechanic and I LOATHE electrical issues. Any, and I mean ANY help would be AWESOME!!!

Re: Crank no spark

Fuel pumps are dang quiet, the relay itself is usually louder.

Ground wires at the thermostat housing broke/loose/corroded/bad connection? That's like the GOD ground for dang near everything related to the computer

All fuses? 13 15 31 (dash)
44 47 (engine comp)

Re: Crank no spark

Is the new distributor junk?

Does the camshaft turn?

There could be a ton of possibilities.
