Angry 1998 CX model/part question

So I just need to clear something up in regards to a fight I had with customer service for a parts site I ordered from and I was hoping some of you could offer some insight. My 1998 CX driver's side window regulator broke so I went online to order a new one. I go to an autoparts website and put in my year, make, and model and click on "window regulators"...it gives me only one option, which it says fits my car. I look further at the item description and it describes the car that it fits as being a sedan!? I figured this must be a mistake since the CX only comes as a Hatchback, and ordered the part since every other indication says that this part will indeed fit my car. Wouldn't you know the part comes 3 days later, and its not a fit for my car. No problem, I'll just return it and get refund and find the part somewhere else right? I call up the site's customer service to explain my issue and the customer service guy tells me that since the site CLEARLY says the part is for a sedan in the item description I should have known that it wouldn't fit my Hatchback! Obviously I fight him on this by explaining that I put in my car's exact specifications as 1998 Honda Civic CX and that their site told me the part would fit my car, so I assumed the "sedan" part was a mistake in the item description. His response..."sir the part doesn't fit because it's for a CX sedan, not a CX Hatchback, we clearly state that." Is this guy kidding me, a CX sedan, really? I explain to him that the CX only comes as a Hatchback, to which he responds "yeah in the US, but we ship globally and the part that you ordered fits CX sedans sold in other countries." At this point I hung up and sent an email to their customer service instead of continuing with this guy. As far as I know the 1998 Civic CX has never been assembled as a sedan anywhere in the world, I searched and found nothing indicating this. What I am wondering is if anyone knows if such a thing exists, because if not, this is one of those times where I will not stop fighting until they admit that they are wrong and give me a damn refund! Thanks for any help

Was this not from a Honda dealer website? (I assume not.)

You want to battle it out.....But meanwhile, your window is still broken.

Looks like 92 McDoubles at Majestic. That's cheap, because it will be correct.

For poops and giggles, I looked at the DangerZone site. They will sell all sorts of power window motors and regulators for a CX. All are for either 2 door or 4 door cars.
Example: Calling the regulator a motor, but selling it without the motor...
ACI Auto/Window Lift Motor

Notes: Regulator only Power windows
Motor Included: No

This makes my head hurt.

Maybe you shoulda picked the 2 door version?

That's great, you found the part that I need on a different website...but that was not my point. My point is that the site I ordered from told me that the part I ordered would fit my car, there was no "2 door option." Look for yourself:

I simply want to know if in fact the CX submodel truly exists as a sedan in "other countries" as the customer service rep claimed. If there really are CX sedans out there I'll submit and chalk it up as a loss, otherwise I plan to fight their customer service until i get a full refund.

Re: 1998 CX model/part question

Majestic shows a scissor type regulator, your site shows a cable type. Should have been a clue there too.

No, I have no idea what versions were available in other markets. My US catalog shows CX is only a 3 door hatch.

So prove their site is for USA?
Here's a clue that the website you linked is not set up for international:
The 7th gen Civic.
Pick 2004. Civic. Si.
In Canada that car has a 1.7 engine (same car as an EX in the US).
In the US the Si has a 2.0
What does that website have for engine choices on a 2004 Civic Si?

Try to pick a European Diesel Civic?

I couldn't find a sedan either, when it comes down to parts like that i wouldn't even waste my time with someone named Peggy i would just go to Honda dealer then you know the parts will be right
