Sounds like preignition or detonation. Check your ignition timing.

Hi,

I've just discovered origin of pinging on Hondas !!!
I wouldn't like to describe the picture of accelerating but it comes from the dirty fuel pump. The engine doesn't receive enough gas to create required rpms for shifting gears from higher to lower. that's why use SEAFOAM to clean injectors and fuel pump filter. High octane gas doesn't help. Use 87 + 1/2 of seafoam bottle, iridium or laser iridium spark plugs and the problem is solved !!!

thank you
