Advice
Hey there,
On sunday my Honda civic ( 96 HB 1.6 SOHC ) threw a rod.
Currently, its sitting and I am not quite sure what to do with it?
I figured this much..
A) Sell it for parts
B) Get a new engine (1.6 or 2.2)
c) Report it stolen and light it on fire for insurance purposes
d) Hope that a tree falls on it. LOL ^insurance purposes
Tranny is rebuilt, clutch is new, brand new Cat/Exhaust manifold. Solid car all around except the engine.
I got a lot on my plate and Im unsure what to do
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

Re: Advice
If the car is solid, I'd suggest an engine swap if you're mechanically inclined. I'd advise against the insurance fraud for obvious reasons...
Selling it for parts will probably be a pain and could take awhile if you do it piece by piece. If you sell it as is, its basically worth only a little more than salvage value so you'd be screwing yourself.
If you have the knowledge, do the swap, or find an uncle or friend that knows how to do it. You could get a decent replacement for prolly $500-$600 if you look hard enough.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Advice
If it is a real POS you could get a sledgehammer and let people take their frustrations out on it for a few bucks for a few hits!
Take it to a biker bar, set it in the parking lot and collect cash!
Drunk bikers love to tear stuff up, especially a foreign car!

OTOH, a lude swap is cool too. Good luck.
