New to me Civic with lots of problems
New to me Civic with lots of problems
I just bought a 99 Civic SI (Canadian) so i think it's a EX in the USA with a D16 motor. I got it for $330 because the owner said he hit a dear and the hood is damaged, front left headlight missing and the left fender is really bad.
So the damage makes sense but what doesn't make sense is it leaks a lot of oil when the engine is running. On top of that both power windows don't work at all. And one more thing, the alternator belt is off because the bracket that pushes the alternator away from the motor (keeps the belt tight) is completely missing.
So to me it just doesn't make sense that this guy hit a dear and magicaly the engine started leaking, power windows stopped working and the alternator bracket fell out
The leak is not a small one, there is a puddle after 15 seconds or the engine running.
I was told that the oil leak is probably from the Oil pressure switch by the oil filter so i will check that soon. Any other common places the oil would leak like mad when the engine is running?
Thanks
