Re: right brake light,left blinker

(1) Make sure your brake/tail bulbs filaments are intact (2 filaments in each brake/tail bulb)

(2) If bulbs o.k. check the grounding connection.

Re: right brake light,left blinker

You've got a short somewhere in the brake light circuit. Which is separate from the turn signal circuit. I can surmise this by the signals working fine when the brake isn't being pushed.

Start at the brake pedal and inspect that connection real good. Look for corrosion, bent/burnt connector terminals or wires. If that's good trace it back to the fusebox and look at that connection. You can also inspect the connections at the brake lights too. To go any further we need year and model.

I suspect you will need a continuity tester (multimeter or otherwise) in order to diagnose this, as well as some knowledge of airbag precautions. The airbags could deploy if you accidentally mess with the wrong wire, which could kill you if your head is too near to it. Did you say that stepping on the brakes causes your left turn signal to start blinking?

Are they standard bulbs or led type ??

Double check your work if any wiring was changed, Inspect the sockets for damage during removal/replacement of bulbs (metal contact tabs bend easily)

The grounding point for the bulbs is at the rear of the car... look over your work 1st (you may have created an open ground at the sockets etc..)

Re: right brake light,left blinker

Are both taillights working as they should ??

On the no brake light side... does the taillight on that side continue to work when stepping on the brake ??
