Exclamation Someone help me plz

So I was at a stop sign and I took off trying to pass the semi next to me. I floored the pedal and I hit 7000 rpms then all of a sudden I felt my engine stop accelerating for a quick second and then I put it in second. It sounded like it stopped getting gas. But when I went to second it drove normal. Its still driving normal but I want to make sure nothing is wrong with my engine. Any ideas on what caused my engine to stop? Tranny maybe?
