Tach help 1997 EX
Tach help 1997 EX
Hey guys,
I have a 1997 EX, The tach is all over the place, sometimes its about 1k over the actual rpm range, sometimes it sticks at 11k (IE at the end of its range of movement), sometimes it runs in the 5k range sometimes.... you get the point.
When I turn it off and pull out the key it jumps up to the pin on the wrong side.
Has anyone had this problem before?
I figure since its so erratic its probably an electrical problem, does anyone know where the reading is taken. (CPS, on the coils?.. I just don't know) I was told it might be a charging system problem since "Honda's have delicate electrical systems" so I pulled the neg battery terminal, took a wire brush to it and a file on the inside. That didn't work obv, or does it need time to reset.
Anyway thanks in advance for any and all info.
