Burning Oil Fast

Vehicle: Honda Civic EX
Year: 1999
Mileage: 106k
Problem: Burning oil fast

Ok so here is the problem. My Civic has been burning oil fast, about 1 quart every 1k miles. I have not noticed any white or blue smoke. I drive it about 15-25 miles a day. I have not noticed any oil around the spark plugs and it hasnt been leaking oil on the ground at all.

Does anyone know what this could be? and if so could you give me a DIY on replacing whatever it could be?

Any help is appreciated!

Re: Burning Oil Fast

If at all possible, do a compression test to start with. Seems you've done the ground work for visual inspections.

Re: Burning Oil Fast

You don't need an air compressor to do the test. The kit is basically a tube with a threaded piece to go into the spark plug hole and it has a gauge on it. I forgot to ask, did you check your valve cover gasket and the area around the valve cover for any oil? If that gasket hasn't been changed, you should examine that as well.
