help a blonde PLEASE!

I have a 2000 honda civic ex I recently purchased its got 180k miles on it and in the last couple weeks I have noticed that it has become very difficult to pull my automatic into reverse from park. I owned an 86 accord lxi and had to replace the transmission twice, I am hoping that that isn't the case with my new car cause I love it so! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, I need a man that can help me with my question, thank yous to you for your help, Cassie.

Re: help a blonde PLEASE!

our 92 accord has the same problem. unfortunately i think its related to the transmission because ive taken apart the shifter and there is nothing really causing it to get stuck. that leads me to think its something with the TRS (trans range switch) that isnt moving properly. there is a small chance it could be the shift lock solenoid next to the shifter so it may be worth taking it apart to check on yours. this is the part that keeps the shifter from moving into R from P if you do not have your foot on the brakes. when it wears out, it can get stuck and jam the shifter. not always the case, but possible.
