Hi all. I'm turning to the forum for help with my 96 LX. A/C quit working last month and mechanic suspected bad ecu. Replaced the ecu with one I found on ebay that had the same numbers. Now the clutch is always engaged, even with the switch turned off. Could this be a bad ecu or perhaps for a non a/c car?

does the compressor stay on even when you set the a/c switch to off? If so check the underhood relay could be possibly stuck, also possibly a bad ECU, dealing with used modules is typically a bad idea, you don't know what you're getting

Thanks 98. Compressor is on with switch off and the relay is good. Green A/C button light works. Either bad ecu or I have a short in the compressor wire. Reason I went with used is because the car is to the point that money spent won't be recovered.
