So over the past weekend I decided to replace my pads and rotors with new ones. Bought some brembo blanks and some hawk pads. While the braking is now AWESOME, i have another slight problem. When I am up at around 120 km/h (around 75 mph), the front end vibrates like mad. You can feel it in the steering wheel and floor. This is when i am not using the brakes, the brakes so far are perfect. I did however have to drill out the two screws holding the rotors on one side, so maybe the rotor is a little off; as in not sitting flush with the actual plate beneath it. I know those screws are there for assembly line purposes, and the wheel will hold the rotor in place so this can't be an issue. Also i had to hammer the old rotor a little bit to get it off (not much, just more tapping than hammering). Any ideas what the issue could be? I would really appreciate any help you guys can give me

Make sure your lug nuts and everything else is tight, you didn't happen to rotate your tires when you changed the brakes?

Yea im going to try that later today. But I kept the tires on the same side, but like I said I did have a bitch of a time getting the one rotor off. And I thought maybe I knocked the alignment off? I mean Im guessing potholes would be way worse but yea, tires are the on same sides and both 32 psi. Also doesnt help that I have really low profile tires haha. like riding in a tank sometimes. But usually at 120-130 its the smoothest ride ever on the highway. Makes me sad .

Alignment has nothing to do with shake. Your tires are probably out of balance since youve rotated them. Unless you forgot to tighten something like your lugnuts there isn't much during a brake job that can make it shake. My money is on tire balance. I moved my rear tires forward and kept them on the same side and it shook like a bastard. Could also be that your tires are shot.

Yea thats true. Its funny though its smooth from 0-110 ish, then it just goes to hell haha. Also i read your other thread about torquing to 80 ft-lbs for lugs. i used 100 and even that seems a bit loose. i feel like if I dont really tighten them the tires might fly off haha. Ill let you know how it goes later though after i rotate the tires a bit more

80ft lbs is enough but 100 ft/lbs wont hurt anything if they are torqued in the proper pattern I actually do 90 ft/lbs myself just to make sure though I don't recommend overtorquing.

SO back to this thread again lol. I have now had all 4 tires replaced and balanced today. And guess what.. STILL A FREAKIN FRONT END VIB. Now i happened to notice that one of the boots on the tie rod on the right side (passenger) is losing some chunky looking grease. Do you guys think that the tie rod could be the issue? I mean i dont hear any other noise when i turn or anything to suggest a bad tie rod but yea. Any ideas guys? Tires were just balanced so it cant be that. Or maybe it can -___-
