Civic Front strut&Tire Wear..
Civic Front strut&Tire Wear..
When my car had 50K miles,Sears told me couldn`t adjust camber(not sure whicn he said)because RF strut was a little weak.now,at 250K,struts feel good to me,but wearing inside of tires out 1st,I`ve always had issues with tire wear on front, but I drive fast around many, many curves every day,and can usually get about 35K out of tires,if I rotate often.
Is this typical for a 99 Civic?
Can I mybe put a spring spacer in to raise the front end a little&get the outside of the tire with a little more weight on the road?
Regards,Dizz

Re: Civic Front strut&Tire Wear..
the pinches of the chassis to ground and a pic of the front vs rear fender gap. one side pic would suffice, i guess, to see if it is lower than normal. usual case i would not believe sears...
Re: Civic Front strut&Tire Wear..
So if I understand correctly, you have the original struts @ 250k miles?
The coil springs most likely are a little broken down after many years and miles...New struts/springs might fix the problem, but maybe not if other parts are bent/worn...adjustable upper control arms might be your best bet in fixing your problem

Re: Civic Front strut&Tire Wear..
Correct, struts, along with whole front end is original, including CV joints.I`m thinking if the springs let the car drop, even .5" or so,your gonna wear inside of the tire, but I may be wrong.Adj upper control arms? Not heard of these.
