2000 Civic - no start
2000 Civic - no start
I turned my car off, ran an errand and when I got back in it wouldn't start. At all. Battery is fine. I can use the lights, blast the radio etc. The starter doesn't respond at all. No click. Nothing. So, I know what I need to look for but I wanted to throw this out there in case someone knows of a particular problem/wire/fuse that goes bad relatively often that would make my search quicker and easier. ...or the best way to go about checking the components... Thanks!
Re: 2000 Civic - no start
Edit: If the starter isn't clicking, that might be it. There was a recall issued for the ignition switch for the 6th gen civics. The case with that is that the car would just shut off. It could be one of those 2 things. My car did something like this, but I flooded my engine. My car would crank, but wouldn't start. Doesn't sound like that's the case with you though.

Re: 2000 Civic - no start
Yeah! It might be easy to find. If your vehicle is standard pump the clutch a few times before holding it in to try to start. If it will start sometimes with this proceedure the switch on the clutch under the dash may be out of adjustment due to so much shifting. If it is automatic run the shifter through the positions a few times before trying to start. The shifter switch may be off the transmission.
