trunk latch

I just picked up my car a couple days ago still working out bugs, one of them is that when I pull my cable to lift the trunk the latch just kind of springs up I don't really feel an tight tension on the latch. I crawled through the back seats unlatched the trunk and found the cable was not hooked up. So I hooked it up on the 3rd notch as tight as I could get it and its still way loose. Is there a way to tighten the cable or is it just wore out and needs to be replaced?

I wouldn't even care bout my key doesn't work either. I am guessing the seller of the car was in a rear end collision at one point and swapped out the trunk from another vehicle.

How can I get a trunk lock cylinder to match my ignition switch?

Re: trunk latch

where the latch attaches to the body there are 2 bolts loosen those and push downwards on it then retighten, give that a shot. I had to do that to mine to get it working.
