Door stuck locked
Door stuck locked
Passenger front door is stuck locked. I have everything taken off the inside and can see the lock. I saw a video for a 2000 that had a pin to release the latch but I can't find it in the 2001. Does anyone know if there is a way to release the latch to get the door opened or is drilling a hole in the frame the only way to get the door open?

Re: Door stuck locked
if you keep locking and unlocking the door and trying to open it you may be able to get the latch/lock to line up right so you can open the door.
had a similar issue with mine, I took the latch out with the actuator mounted to it and discovered that a little plastic piece broke off the bottom. therefore the lock wasn't lining up properly.
the only pin that i found while taking it apart was inside the latch assembly where it meets the actuator. if you pushed on it it popped the latch loose so you could open the door.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Door stuck locked
I'd say buy another door latch .....and once you have a good one in your hands you can inspect and hopefully determine where to drill to get the old one to release.
