Hey guys,


I know its not a Honda - I'll call it "almost a Honda" - its a 1999 Acura EL 1.6 (fully loaded).

I get this knocking sound from the trunk whenever I go over speed bumps or drive on bad roads. Various mechanics have looked at it and nobody could figure out what it was.

Has anyone had such a problem before? It has got to my nerves and I have no idea what to do anymore.

Well Acura is Honda but make sure everything is secured tightly like the spare and all the tools that's about all I could think if haha

hey,,, worth a shot : try your rear seats see if they are secured properly,and that they are fully latched,then try your parcel shelf,any audio equipment in your trunk,, then the trunk lid i.e boot lid and make sure thats secured or if you have a big *** spoiler on it make sure its not loose my mates civic saloon had a big metal spoiler on it and everytime he hit a bump it would feel like this thing was going to come through the trunk haha best of luck

p.s have a look at your exhaust system it could be sending rattles and knocks up

Check your rear shocks, they could be shot.
