Spark Plugs
Spark Plugs
Hello,
I recently ran into a misfiring problem with my 1996 Honda Civic EX. I change the spark plugs, (which are NGK R) and the problem stopped, but now it starts up again every so often. I can fell the car shaking through the shifting stick, and don't know what the problem is. The guy at autozone said it could be because I didn't gap my spark plugs. However, I can't find my manual so I don't know what to gap them too. Any ideas that could help me? And should I maybe change the spark plugs wires too. Also, since I have changed the spark plugs, the car turned off on me twice while in 1st gear. Thanks for the help.

Re: Spark Plugs
check sparkplugs.com for gapping info. usually its 0.040 but might be different. you should gap them yes, even tho many claim to be pregapped. also the spark plug wires may need replacement (stick with oem or ngk), and possibly the distributor cap and rotor.
