Hey guys. I purchased a honda civic 2000 DX hatchback around july of 09.

I was never informed the odometer didn't work, but it doesn't.

what i'm wondering is despite tampering, what are possible reasons why an odometer would stop working?

is it possible for an odometer to just ''get stuck'' and no longer work?

yes, it's possible for it to just no longer work. The car is 10 years old and things start no longer working around this point.

I believe the 6th gens have the older mechanical odometers and not digital like 7th gens right? That's more to go wrong.
