hi, im currently looking to buy a 1999 civic si and have become very confused as far as model's of these cars. i am from canada, and iv'e found they do things different here. i have seen a few ad's for 99' civic si-g and a few for just 1999 civic si. does anyone know the diffrence between the two?

i have also seen a few ad's for 1998 civic si and even went to look at one. i was reading that they do not make 98 civic si, i also read they made the 98 si in canada with 127hp. i found out the 1999 comes with 160hp stock, so knowing that im looking for 99. i have been saving for quite a long time now and now have enough to buy one of these. i need some more info on what to look for because i don't wanna get ripped off. i had a friend with one of these cars and it was awesome!!
could you guys give me a few tips for when i go to look at these cars? how can i tell its a true si model with the performance? i swear some people just stick an "si" sticker on them. any info would be appreciated. thx.

if you are looking for the hi performance civic, its called the SI-R in canada. the SI in canada is the same as an EX in the usa. the usa SI and canada SI-R comes with 160bhp (140whp), the regular ex comes with much less. there are many extras on the SI-R that you will be able to recognize. gauge cluster (high redline), front grill, side skirts, engine bay (engine is B-series), alloy 7 spoke rims, etc. also the SI-R only comes in three colors red, black, and blue.

Also SI aka SI-r has 4 wheel disc breaks.. that should be the easiest way to tell what kind of SI it really is

no same. SI in usa, SI-R in canada. but its confusing cause in canada, their SI is a regular EX in the usa.
