except if you buy it from that site you probably won't have a warranty. So its up to you. Personally on something that expensive I think I'd stick to the authorized dealer, especially since it isn't really a HUGE difference in price if you pay to have somebody install it.

the 1004 is really crappy. Spend the extra $$$'s and get either the 1006 or IVA-C801. you will be happier in the long run

the 1006 and the iva arent current models anymore, there's just the 1004 and the iva-d900 (in dash dvd player). And while the cva1004 does only have one preout, there is an expansion module (kce-104v) that adds some inputs and gives you 3 4Volt preouts. A 1004 shouldnt cost anymore to hookup then a regular radio, because there is no seperate brain for it (unless you get the kce-104v).

I just purchased an IVA-D900 from an online store. Got it installed and it wont read cd's or dvd's. I got a hell of a deal on it. Saved close to $500.

• The limited warranty covers the original purchaser, and product must be purchased from an authorized Alpine dealer. Please be aware that the only on-line Alpine dealer is Crutchfield .
Called for service it will cost me $250 to fix my deck being i didnt buy it from a "authorized Alpine dealer" Oh well, guess i still save about $200 after shipping cost for repair

How much was that D900? I got mine for 1700 but I got a receipt from Ultimate Electronics where it's normally 2299.
