Fried an amp...warranty....
I was driving on a 3 hour road trip, after about 2 hours my music stopped playing and my amp started smoking, i turened off the car and pulled off the side of the road to take the fuses out of my distribution block just to make sure the amp wasn't getting any type of power.
The amp that blew was my eclipse 32440. It's a 4 channel amp, only the front channels are in use at the time. The amp has 4 internal 20 amp fuses, the two for the front channels blew naturally. i replaced the fuses with new ones and the amp still did not work so i unmounted it. When i shake the amp a little bit i can hear something inside rattling around so i guess that's a problem.....but here's the question....
I bought it 10 months ago from Tweeters. I have the reciept and everything but i don't think i ever sent the warranty card in...am i screwed? Do i have to pay full price to get it fixed or should the warranty cover it.
For the return trip home the next day i just swapped out my sub amp, an eclipse 34230 that i was using for my subs so thank god i had music for the return trip, i can't stand driving in a car with no sound.

No matter what happens if it is internal or not the warranty should cover it, and if it dosent then the shop can be sued on counts of froglenity<--- dont know if i spelled it right
I had a 34230 and 2 min after I installed it into my Civic, it went up n smoke. It was 1 month out of warranty, but I took it back to the dealer, they sent it in and Eclipse covered it. i don't think I ever sent in the reg card but I'm sure eclipse can track date of purchase thru the dealer via the serial number. No worries, it'll take some time for shipping back and forth but they're pretty good about their warranty's!
tell yah what, i had the same problem but i purchased the amp from sound advice (a branch of tweeter), and they said if i had my recipet it would cost like $2.00 to fix but since i did nto they sent it off to kicker and i had to pay for the repair fees. While tweeter and sound advice are a lil more pricey than circuit city or ur local sound store...they really know how to treat their customers!!! GOOD LUCK!!

ok, i went to tweeters and they said it was no problem, said the warranty would cover it so they sent it on its way. Darn things probably going to be gone for 4-6 weeks atleast i'd say. I sent an eclipse head unit back before, i had it overnighted there and overnighted back and it still took oever 2 weeks, they're stuff sits around there for a long time i guess before anybody gets to it
