can you guys tell me what's the best way to get power from the battery? I am thinking of tapping into that thick wire that comes right off the battery, but not sure if its the best way. TIA
Either get a new battery clamp and re-wire that way, or take a wire and use a ring terminal and attach it to the bolt that tightens the + battery cables to the battery. Don't tap your OEM battery wires.
a relay for the headlights, you cna grab power anywhere. including diretly at the battery.
we will usually pull it off the fusr box, one of the constant powers going in there, or we will put a ring terminal on teh small-*** 16 guage wire and yup, put that righ ton the battery terminal itself.
its messier ot do it to teh battery itself, but its supereasy. and jsut as reliable...

i want to pull it off the fuse box, how do i do that? mystic said not that mess with the oem battery wire going to the fuse box, so I don't know where I can tap the power from the fuse box...
You can tap in at the fuse box...I meant don't cut into the OEM wire and tap like that.
I also thought you meant for an amplifier. I havent tapped the fuse box for our civics yet, so i'll let someone with more experience explain how to do that.

youll have to look for the easiest way in there, ive never done fogs or sidemarkers or any other sort of work like that in a 7th gen civic to be honest, but i would imagine it works like any other car.
you look for any wire thats hooked to constant power fomr the battery, using a test light, once you find the hareness, and you cna grab power form there.
