Question JL 12w3 Sub Repairable?

Hey everyone, im really irritated after what happened today. I was driving around listening to music and my sub all fo a sudden stops working. I take it out of the box and I examine it closely, and I notice that one of the negative wires coming out of the cone and onto the plate where you connect the wires coming from the amp to the sub is broken. It was severed right where it connects to that plate,r ight where there is that protective gel around the connection. All of the other connections seem to be connected so I try to solder the broken wire, well, I connect it back up to my amp after that and my sub works, but it makes a very loud popping noise, like something is hitting the cone. The reason I think it does that is because the solder doesn't make the wire flexible and the power wire has to be able to flex up and down with the cone. So my question is that if I bring it to a speaker repair place, should they be able to repair this wire?
