Question Want to build a Vented Bandpass Sub Enclosure, but got 1 question?

Ok. I'm getting 2 Rockford RFD2112 12" subs. The instruction book has the recommended cubic foot volume of the sealed vented enclosure measured at 2.0 cubic foot. There are no recomended values for a bandpass vented box.

What should the cubic foot volume of the outside bandpass portion of the box be? Also while I'm at it, is just plain old plexiglass used for the front or is some other specific material used?

Other than those 2 questions I'm fine.

Don't the bass hit harder in a bandpass box?

Prolly ported would be best for what your looking for and easiest to tune. Bandpass is tough to get to sound good unless you have a computer based design program for the box parameters.

Cool Thanks for your help. I think I'm gonna go with just the vented box, but with 10" subs. I built a box out of cardboard for the 12" vented and I just barely couldn't get it in the trunk, but if I changed the values around, I could get them in, but with hardly any trunk space left.

Thanks for the help. I think I'm gonna take your advice and just go with the vented box and save some trunk space.
