Get a Pioneer (7000 series) or an Eclipse player, you'll thank yourself later. I couldn't tell you how many people reported problems with their Alpines where I work, personally I think they're one of the ugliest headunits out there anyway, and you could do much better then Clarion too, good luck and GO FLYERS! Payce.

Rep Power: 0 I'm not sure about the clarion but i can tell you that the 7400 is awesome and is probably 1 of the only headunits that the display can be seen in our cars during the day. The only downside is they take a while to switch songs on an mp3 disc.

display - both can be seen if tweaked, pioneer has mosre animation, clarion has 727 more colors than the pioneer
mp3 - clarion wins by far
output signal - same
eq - basically the same
clarion has aux input, pioneer you need to buy an adapter for aux in
anything else i missed?

but I agree, I think you should go with an Eclipse, THE BEST SHIET OUT RIGHT NOW
they dont LOOK the best, but they are awasome H.U.
BTW - I haven't had of any problems with my Alpine at all. Hadn't even heard of any....

Rep Power: 0 get an Alpine I just got the new CDA 9815 and its the shi@. I- pesonalize lets you download time corection and crossover programs from Alpines we sit it=nto the deck plus MP3 sounds great. My opinion and with where I work I can pretty much get every thing
