Eclipse MP3 HU?
Eclipse is launching a new product line (of which I'll be getting the newest high-end version, the CD8053 with digital preamp!). I know they're launching the HD1213 which can record from any source on the radio, or get music from your computer.

im still wondering why they made an mp3 hu. Eclipse is by far my favorite company. Overall they make quality stuff. But this mp3 hu will only allow mp3's crappy quality to enter the system.
Remember they system is only as good as the component before it. So if you start with a crappy source it wont get better.

lol a 128 mp3 will suck..... I can't hear the differance between 224 and a regular cd tho..... just me tho, of course, if yer really picky 300+kbps mp3 sounds the same no matter who you are heh.... well unless yer the most picky audiophile in the world. Another point, downloaded mp3s off of kazaa or the such do sound like **** in general. You need to rip them yerself with GOOD software. I burn everything in either 192 or 224 depending on the type of music in stereo mode with all settings set for max quality. Anyhow.... just my rant stating mp3's do not suck unless you have supernatural hearing. p2p network mp3's DO suck.
Oh and that headunit sounds like it kicks ***

Cyko's got it right on the money! Just because it's an mp3, does NOT mean that the source is crap, it's all in the encoding. Like Cyko said, most of the MP3s out there on P2P network like KaZaa and whatever else is out there... are crap. You might want to check out http://www.r3mix.net and educate yourself some more on MP3s.
I personally rip all my audio CDs with their settings, and they sound great, you can't even tell it's an MP3. And 128 bit MP3s don't necessarily have to suck either. A 128kbps joint-stereo mp3 CAN own an mp3 encoded at 192 in stereo mode.
I've also seen the MP3 Eclipse HUs at Good Guys... so far, it seems that they've rolled out the lower end line (at least here), and it's so tempting to want to get one... but I'm waiting for them to come out with the full line, so I can get a higher end model. I was told that in a month's time frame... they'll be carrying the whole line.
Eclipse owns =) About time they come out with an MP3 HU!@
