Rear Speaker problem!?

So i followed the DIY for installing sedan speakers and it was a breeze. But i have a minor problem. My rear speakers cant be screwed down because the holes on the speakers dont line up. Anybody have any ideas as to what i should do? Is it bad if my speakers are not held down? THe only reason i got these speakers was cuz crutchfield said that it would fit.

you'll need to secure them.. stuff is gonna vibrate and it doens't sound safe to have the speakers like that. just drill new holes if you have to

That could be bad....silicone (bathroom adhesive caulk) is corrosive to certain speaker materials.

BTW, generally if a thread hasnt had a post in a week or more, the problem/question has been resolved and doesnt need to be posted in. Just an FYI since you're new.

well, if you havent figured it out yet, you could alwasy bottoms mount them and run in a few screws, that or you could drill holes and put in new screws in them, i had trouble getting a drill in there though cause of the window...
