>=1500Watts on stock electrical system? Where ya at?
I've heard of a few individuals out there them seem to have some ungodly beats out there running it off the stock electrical systems. I'm just lookinf for these guys and wanna know how much u running and what kind of problems you've had if ANY? I'm only at about 900-1000watts and my lights dim periodically, but from what I hear there are guys with alot bigger systems that say their systems perform w/no problem. Maybe I need to do some fine tuning to my crossover and amps...(I'm not asking what to do to keep my lights from dimming, I'm just trying to get an idea of what will happen if I beef up the system, and what kind of problems u others have ran into with them monster beats)

I am right around the 1500 watt mark, maybe a lil below. However, I don't always blast it...just on Special occasions I actaully listen to sports talk radio alot. So far no major problems (knock on wood) besides poping a few 60 amp fuses by the battery One thing also, is that most of my power is coming from a Class D amp, which will draw less amps usually then an class A/B amp.

Whiterabbit ran 1925 rms for a while, in a few weeks i will be running exactly 1900 myself (320 + 1580), and yet a few months later ill prolly bring it up right under the 2000 mark
ive also (not for long periods) hooked up enough amplification to achieve 2710 rms, the car still ran just fine, no short term problems.
no medium term problems running 1925 rms
no long term problems running at 1710.
no cap, stock battery, stock alternator. youll be fine with whatever ou throw at it! (unless you listen to your stereo unresponsibly )

DAMN....I guess I can go ahead and get my measley 1500watt stereo up and running then. One more thing whiterabbit, when you say listen responsibly are you talking about:
NOT - listening to music w.out your car on for long periods of time
- cranking your amp at 110%
- cranking your stereo to maximum volume
in other words the basics?? Cuz I'd hate to have all of that juice and not be able to flex it when I want. Thanx fellas

listening to music wth the car off always kills the battery quick. even running 2 6.5's off a 40 watt amp with my radio turned to volume 5-8 of 30 kille dmy battery. took 5 hours, but still, even louder or more speakers or subwoofers or louder just makes it doe quicker. so thats definitely on teh list. it cna be done, just always watch yoru voltage, if you have that option.
cranking the amp to 110% doesnt kill batteries, it kills speakers. thats on a completely different no-no list
only other thing on teh list of listeing responsibly is not cranking it to full tilt for 7 hours at a time. may not hurt your charging system, and you might not care about other ppl, but you should care abotu yoru ears, and even tho its great fun to roll around lisinting to ball sout loud music with earplugs in (ppl just stare......) , you shouldnt be doing it for 7 hours straight, with or without earplugs.
but definitely crack it sometimes! whats the point otherwise? =D

ppreciate it, couldn't agree with you more about demoing tha ride and the beats. I'm just suprised at how much the alternator can apparently take and not just croak......I'll take your word for it and hope I ain't back a few months later with "brand new" alternator questions....I assume "RESPONSIBLY" is the keyword for today.....thanks for all the help
i got 1600 bass and 400 in highs ... i blast my stereo all day LONG .. i abuse.. but thats only cause its set up right... check my C.A.P. .. is 15 farads i can disconnect the 0 gauge power cable under the hood and the CAP will power the stereo for about an hour BTW lights dimming lol never herd of such a thing
