Sub Doesn't Work???

Hey everyone, lately I have been having some problems with my JL Audio 12w3 and Alpine M300 amp. Well, my subwoofer doesn't work anymore. I took it out of the sub box to make sure everything was connected, and everything was. Then I tried the battery test, and the sub reacted when I conneted the positive and negative to the battery. Now, my amplifier turns on, it shows the wattage, just like if the sub were working. All the connections to the amplifier are fine, everything is connected. I thought for a minute that it was the accessory port on the back of my box that wasn't making the connection. I took my sub out of the box, connected the wires from the back of the sub directly to the positive and negative wires on the amplifier, and still, nothing worked. This brings me to believe that there is a setting in the amplifier that isn't right or something in my HU. I made sure the Sub was selected on my Alpine 7893 HU and I checked everything, and everything looks fine. Could you all please help me, this is very strange. I am going towards the amplifier settings, but im not sure about the amplfiier. Here is a link to my amp: Here

Check to make sure your protection circuit isnt activating...donno how to do that on the alpine amps, but there SHOULD be a light somewhere...or if you have a multi meter you can check the output from the amp to make sure there is voltage coming out when it plays....if you dont have a multi meter, go to radio shak and pick up a 12v light.....I think they are about 2 bucks....hook that up, see if it lights. If it doesnt light, then you should check the RCA's at the HU....those could have come loose. Other than that, your amp should still be putting out power and making the sub play, even if the settings are wrong. You could have a loose connection inside the amp....take it to an audio shop and have them test it.
