New eclipse HUs to have 16 volt balanced outputs!

The eclipse rep stopped by my shop to drop off lit on the new eclipse equipment for the year and we opened the booklet to find that all the eclipse HUs have been redone in brushed aluminum and have dropped in price! The new top of the line (don't remember the model number) has a 16V balanced preout! That's a lot of high quality sound coming out of this thing! Best part... it's only like 500 bucks dayum.. ima hafta get me ona them. I saw all this and figured that something bad must have happened to the equipment to make it this cheap but the rep told me that the original owner of eclipse (who left the company awhile back) is back in charge and wants to put eclipse back on the map so everything got improved and prices didn't skyrocket. The stuff all looks really really badass and he said next years stuff is gonna blow this year's stuff away... Can't wait for tax returns!

Eclipse 8062.... to my knowledge the older 8061 series had 16 volts as well, but voltage isnt everything, nakamichi's run at 4 or 5 volts i think

The 16V balanced output only works when the 8061/8062 is coupled with the balanced line adapter (37601). Otherwise, the headunit will only have an 8V output.

So Eclipse isn't a Fujitsu-Ten company anymore?

Have fun finding an amp that will accept 16v's. That will cause almost every amp on the market to clip. Most high end amps only accept 8v's.

Faint.. I have the problem now with my 5volt HU pre-outs and my arc amps.. 2.5 volt inputs.. I use my in dash EQ as a step down because it has it's own master volume controll

My Eclipse 8051 has 8v pre-outs, and they're pretty strong. While testing the headunit, i forgot to tape the little metal gap between the female and male RCAs, and they would arc between each other. Nasty stuff. All is well now, though.
