Rep Power: 0 '02 MITSU GALANT w/prem sound deck install?
my friend has a GALANT and i was trying to put tha PANASONIC day/night deck in. his stock system is INFINITY and i think it may have a stock amp with the premium sound package. when i took the deck out, the harness only consisted of 5 wires. i have never messed with a system designed like that, cause i assumed it was like other cars with a 14 wire harness or something. i also noticed an "s-video" looking plug that goes into the back. anybody know what thats for? and also another plug right next to and similar to the size of the antenna. a car tech guy at CIRCUIT CITY said there was no need for anything. does anybody know how the power, ground, remote, spkr +/-. etc wires will attach to a harness with 5 wires consisting of red, black, blue, green, yellow (something like that)? also does anybody know what tha other plugs do and what will happen if i dont attach to an aftermarket HU cause the deck doesnt support it (no plugs for it on back of deck)? hopes im not that confusing but any help will be greatly appreciated and desperatly needed. thanx

Rep Power: 289 I suggest that you bypass the factory amp cause then you lose sound quality. Your amplifying an amplifier ant that can cause problems in the long run. Bypassing an amp is a little bit harder and more work but it's well worth the work. I have a 2000 Mtsubishi Galant and I completly gutted it out check it out:

Rep Power: 0 where is the factory amp on your car? i''ll tell my friend to check if its the same on the 02. so do i buy the bypass harness? does this mean i have to run wire to all speakers myself? im hoping to do a fast and simple job. would of been so much easier if it was a normal factory deck.

Rep Power: 0 so should i not use the harness that connects to the stock deck at all and just run all 14 wires from the aftermarket HU down to the amp? seems like alot of trouble working with factory amplified cars
