Quick question
Hey everyone, hopefully mohawkboom, if you're reading this , i'm installing my MB Quart PSD's right now, and i am going to hook them up to a PPI PCX4125, my question is, since i'm bi wiring them, do I match the settings for the fronts and rears, or should I adjust the rear channel (for the mids) to play more bass than highs (w/ the internal crossover), also, for the high channel, do I set the int. crossover to the maximum frequency? And any other tips you guys might have for tunning the amp....i've never tuned a highs amp...only sub amp.
Help would be greatly appreciated...and by the way, dont move this for a little while please, I put it here to get a quick response, thanks.

Okay..if your not using the supplied crossover and your wiring 1 channel to your tweeter and one channel to your mids, you'd want to use the supplid crossover for the tweeter both for it's tweeter attenuator , crossover and clipping protection.
For the midrange you'd have to bandpass it..either through use of an external active crossover, or by making your own. You'd want to highpass it at about 90hz and low pass it at around 3500-4000hz...

I have the MBquart PSDs in my car bi-amped and it was pretty simple to do. One thing to be sure of is that you change the passive crossover settings from standard to the bi-wired setting. I didn't do this at first and my amp got HOT and shut off. It is the connector that is in the middle of the two crossovers. Also, you should set you tweeter setting to 0dbs. When you bi-wire the speakers you have to match the sound between the tweets and woofers by using the gains to adjust each. I have my tweets just a tad lower then the woofers, but I like my tweets bright, so you may want to have it a il bit lower.
You should be able to use the supplied passive crossovers to seperate the tweets from the woofers. You should set the low pass filter to you woofers to around the 100hz area. If have questions I can tell you more about how I have mine set up.

Yeah, the directions might as well be in German!!
Just be sure when you bi-wire them that you set it from standard to bi-wire, because there is potential to fry your amp
