H/U Dimmer Wiring? Help..

Does the stock OEM head unit "DIM" the H/U display when the parking/head lights are on? I just wired up a new Kenwood H/U to my 2k3, and when doing so I noticed that I did not see the lead? I used a Schose (sp?) harness and matched the leads up color for color. Does anybody's h/u DIM when the parking/head lights come on? If so, what was the color of the lead? Orange, Orange/White? Thanks!

Joe

I installed a Sony CDX-CA700X in my car 2 weeks ago and the HU didnt have a lead for dimming, so my HU lights never dim. Unless i wired it incorrectly, i do not believe it was an option to connect the dimmer lead.

i'm looking at the wiring diagram and i dont see a lead for dimmer on my sony harness. I know there was one from the factory wiring, but the sony harness doesnt have anywhere to connect it to.

Quite a few aftermarket head units don't dim! The correct color for the dimmer wire is usually ORANGE though! I know that the Kenwood MP919 has a dimmer, but I haven't seen many aftermarket radios that do!

Good luck!

I think my MP8017 dims. Im not sure, I havent had since August. Its been in the shop for some thing, and the parts were on back back order I think. They "said" Monday. But we'll see to that. I want my damn deck back, Im starting to hate the sound out of the stock deck. But I'll let you know about the dimming.
