the situation with my 15's

I built a box like the one in the DIY , the box that is sunk down into the spare tire well with the dual subs mounted flush with the fake floor. So far i have carpeted it and have one Xtant 15 inch sub mounted in the first half of the dual chambered box. i will post pictures later of the one in there. i have a Rockford 500 A2, three years old, that i want to link to another 500 A2 of the same type. The overall plan is to push one 15 inch sub with it's own 500 watt rockford. The problem is, the Xtant already has these "rub " spots on the side of the cone, so i dont know about buying a second to match it. THe sub is 500 max, 250 RMS. It sounds alright but im considering selling it to buy a better brand. OR i could use the 500 A2 to push my 220 watt pioneer 6x9's and buy an 800 watt rockford to link up to the 500 watt rockford. im trying to make an educated buy here, so any opinions are cool

You can use your rockford to power your 6x9s if you want. It seems that the 15" is too big for your enclosure. When you say "rub" spots on the side of the cone... do you mean on the surround? If that's the case your sub's excursion reaches the underside of your floor and hits it producing these "rub" spots. You have already built the box so it's not worth your time to build it for a small sub. Just modify your trunk floor to accomodate the sub excursion, if that is the case.

I had to modify my trunk for my 15". My box that is under the false floor is actually deeper than the alloted space so my floor sits up a little but is hasn't been a problem
