Alpine 6x9s, I got a question about the install *pic*
Alpine SPS-6939S, I jus got these off ebay for a real good price, 70shipped I think. Anyways they are coming in a few days and I am wondering if anyone got these. I don't have any other speakers, only my Alpine HU, and that even took me 30mins to install

Basically I am scared I will have to drill or anything. How are installation on them, I kno many of 6x9s you'll have to take off the balancing bar for the trunk.
Thanks guys!

Guy, you'll have to do some serious work to make those fit in the 2k1 civics. The speaker sizes are all 6.5. So making a 6x9 fit will require some cutting and drilling. Sorry man.

If you have a Coupe the sizes are '6.5 inches' in front, '6 inches X 9 inches' in rear
If you have a Sedan the sizes are '6.5 inches' in front, '6.5 inches' in rear
By the way, I would guess for those speakers you'll have to remove the trunk springs, but you can use something like Grey's DIY Trunk Shocks to replace the springs.

sweet speakers, but yeah, im pretty sure they are gonna be too deep to mount in the back without some mods to the things around them
you have some work ahead of you... (or maybe just sell em for more than you paid on ebay

I hvae no problem taking off the bar for the trunk. Thanks anywhoos. Still wondering if anyone else has these that can give me more information about them
Just check the specs and find the depth of the speakers. Then measure the distance from your rear deck down to anything that will be in the way. If there is something in the way and the depth of your speakers exceeds this distance, you'll have to figure something out. I think 6.5's would work best... 6x9's are for American cars.

The depth of the coupe's rear clearance is 3 7/16 I believe, thas wha I found when I searched.
The Alpines are 3 1/8 on the bottom and 2 13/16 on top.
This should give me enuff room eh?
