I have Rattle!

I have rattling in my trunk. It's located by the third brake light up by the back window. The panel is apparently loose. What do you guys recommend I do? Will stuffing Dynamat inside the gaps do anything for me? Since we are civic owners I figured you would be best to answer a question like this. Plus in a trunk do you guys find that a bandpass box works better than a sealed? Or what works best. I have a sealed box but maybe looking towards changing??

Thanks

I still have trunk rattles, your best bet is to dynamat the entire trunk, then underneath your interior panels and go from there. Also make sure that you tighten everything before you dynamat it. As for your box, it really depends on what type of sub you have. If you have kicker comp vr's, they only recommend sealed boxes, so putting them in a bandpass box isn't going to sound as good as if you put them in a sealed box...you gotta be a little more specific.

If you look at your back dash from the trunk you will see a black box. This I believe houses the middle seatbelt. I think that that may have potential for rattle.

I have a single 12inch JBL GT1200 sub in a sealed box. I had it in a bandpass when I bought it. That sounded great, but in a different car. Its not very powerful, but loud. It does the job until I can get a pair of JL Audio's. The ****. If there is anything else you need let me know. I may pick up a JL audio 12w0, if this guy gives me a good deal. What type of box then, do you guys think? Just curious.

Thanks everyone for your help,
Chicohonda02

I had the same problem as well, but searched on this forum and found the answer. Someone came up with the ingenious idea to stuff eggcrate foam between the metal frame and plastic panel from the trunk. No more rattle.

I also have rattling coming from my trunk!!!
There is a air passage behind the bumper in the rear drivers side. Im guessing it gives the trunk ventilation because when I turn up the volume the flap covering the air hole goes flalalalalalalalap~!!
How would you guys recommend I stop that?

I had the same problem. I went to Home Depot and bought some airconditioning insulation. It is a long foam tube that I cut and stuffed between the deck and the rear window. I no longer have any rattlings.

How does it look, where did you fit it in? Do you have any pics of it?
