OK, im planning ondoing some quite expensive I.C.E., and before i plan on spending the money, i would like your opinions. I would really like to go all JL Audio, and what ever i cant get from them, im goin Kenwood. OK, here are the parts:

Kenwood KVT-911DVD
- All-In-One Headunit, AM/FM/XM,CD,DVD,NAV Control, Flip out Touch Screen, etc.

Kenwood KNA-DV2100
- Navigation Hard Drive output
- Controlled by above HU

Kenwood CX-SR10
- XM Radio Antenna (roof-mount)

Kenwood C929
- 10 Disc CD changer
- works w/ above HU

JL Audio VR 690-CX
- Rear 6x9's
- Coaxials

OK, for the fronts im not sure to go with JL's Coaxials, or 3 piece 3 ways, here they are:

JL Audio XR650-CS
- Front 6.5's
- Coaxials

JL Audio XR653-CS
- Front 6.5's
- 3 pieces
- Woofer cone, mid-range, and tweeter
- What im not sure about these is that, for SQ, and imaging, and the good looks, Im not sure if i want to go with these or not because id have do do some fairly major modification to my door pannels, and i dont really want ot do that, a question here is, how much better will they sound than the Coaxials mentioned above?

JL Audio 10 W7

Powered by:

JL Audio 500/1
- sub-amp

For the components should I go with 1 JL Audio 300/4, or two JL Audio 300/2?

Thanks.
(big bill huh?)

Sound..should be QUITE nice if all installed properly....

Seeing as you seem to have $$$ .. just go with the 3 way component set and have a reputable shop make your some kickpods.. the 6.5" Midbasses will fit into the doors with minimal effort..the 300/4 should be plenty power for that...

Cheers

You'll probably need more than a JL 500/1 to power the 10 w7. You can get away with 2 piece comps if you want, or if you want to make some custom kicks then go with the 3 way comps. A JL 300/4 should be addequate for the speakers. Should sound pretty good.

the 500/1 is plenty sufficient for the 10W7..only the 13w7 is a powermonger..the 10 and 12 can work well with 500Wrms..

ok, thats cool.
Oh, just had a thought, how good is the headunit as far as sound tuning and stuff like that.
[(sidenote)Ill also be addin my PSOne] im also gonna have to do a helluva lotta custom trunk mounting probably, so if anyone has some design concept, lemme know. Also, should i consider a alternator, or second battery, or both?

Not really your stock alternator should do...it's not that much power... One thing I would do though..seeing as your going for a full DVD setup..is run a center channel speaker as well for some true 5.1 surround sound.... a PS/one can be mounted in the glove box..when you install the HU..just get some 3ft RCA's from youe Auux into the glove box for video and Sound..Sepcially seeing as you're going all kenwood and JL..this would be a sweet competition/show car for a Mobile theater

Yeah, my goal is to have a nice lil' show car. im gonna end up upgrading my alarm to. from seeing other posts about the probs of putin the PS in the glove box(plus id like to keep the storage), im prolly gonna have all this professionally installed, cause i dont know enough(nor feel to comfortable) to install it all myself. thatll be a big bill itself.

Ok, i went to Tweeter on saturday, and went through everything wiht the salesman there, and this is the final rundown, now all i have to do is save about 12 g, for parts and custom installation, and ill be all set.

KVT-911DVD--DVD H.U. w/ 6.5" touch screen
KNA-DV2100--Navigation DVDROM
KDS-P901--Didgital 5.1 Surround Processor
KTC-SR901--Sirius XM Tuner
CX-SR10--Sirius XM Antenna
KDC-CX89-- 10 MP3/ CD Changer

JL Audio 500/1 Amplifier,
Powering the 10W7

JL Audio 300/4 Amplifier,
Front (or Rear) Channel Powering one JL Audio XR650CX 6.5" Coaxial, mounted in the center of the dash for true 5.1 Surround,
Whichever channel is left, will power a pair of JL Audio XR650CX 6.5" Coaxial's(factory 6x9 hole being converted for 6.5's, since the extra bass from the 6x9's is not needed)

JL Audio 300/2 Amplifier,
Powering a pair of JL Audio XR650CS 6.5" 2-way components

Car is getting a full Dynamat and spray foam sound deadener treatment.

Alarm is being upgraded from base model Hornet, to Clifford CONCEPT 600.

It'll prolly start being installed between this time next year and next fall.

Ill hit the mid-atlantic show scene in full force beginning with the 2004 show season.

Any comments?

Just a 1 farad cap should do it..as long as you don't crank it all the time..it should do the trick...also.. don't use Dymanat..it's tooo $$$ get soem RAAM60 or Brown Bread..it works just as well both have better adhesives..and are 3X Cheaper
