SVC vs DVC
ive searched in the forums for the pros and cons of SVC and DVC subs. im thinking of running either 2 12 inch Cerwin Vega HED or 2 12 inch JL W3's in SVC or one DVC sub. which is the better choice. i listen to heavy rock and club music mostly
A DVC sub gives you options on how much power you want to send to those subs. At 2 ohms, the amp will provide more power than at 4 ohms. I dunno about one DVC verses 2 CV's or JL's, unless that DVC was an IDMAX, or an Audiomobile MASS. What kind of Amp are you going to use?
What you are planning on running for an amp is an important factor. If your going to be using lets say an Orion 225HCCA which is stable to a 1ohm mono load..then sky is pretty much the limit. But if you choose to go with a amp that is 2ohm STEREO...at best..then you are a bit limited in what you can buy...unless of course you have room for multiple subs to get the load you desire.
Re: SVC vs DVC
Hi i am new to this. I have a question to ask i am buing a cerwin vega 15 inch HED/DVC 4 ohm dual voice coil sub. And the amp that i have is a HiFonics Mercury x 2x50 watts 2/1 channel 1ohm stable amp. Now will this amp push this sub and how should i hook this up?
